Summary: It is going to be the last Godzilla movie for another ten years. How do you think they'll go off before going on a long hiatus with the big G? By going completely bonkers with their premise, and give us "Destroy All Monsters" on crack.
History: It has been decades since Godzilla had been imprisoned in the Antarctic ice by the Earth Defense Force, which is mostly comprised of inexplicable super-humans known as Mutants. However, out of nowhere, giant monsters surface all over the world destroying everything before being taken by a seemingly benevolent alien race. As it turns out, these Neo-looking freaks are the Xilians, an evil race bent on taking over Earth by using its monsters against them, their main asset being the Gorath meteor, which houses the legendary Monster X. The good guys have no choice but to release Godzilla to subdue the monsters while they try and focus on defeating the Xilians.
Notable Kills: See Final Fate.
Final Fate: Manda is frozen and broken into pieces by the Gotengo battleship, while Godzilla blasts Gigan's head off, tosses Kumonga into the distance, impales Kamacuras on a radio tower, and blasts both Hedorah and Ebirah into oblivion. The only monsters he doesn't try to kill are Anguirus, Rodan, and King Caesar. Of course, the final fight is between him, Mothra, Monster X, and a modified Gigan. Mothra and Gigan blow each other up, while Godzilla almost gets killed by Monster X, who transforms into Kaiser Ghidorah. It is only through the transferred energy of Mutant Shiniki Ozaki that Godzilla wins by spiral-beaming the evil monster into oblivion. Godzilla almost resumes his rampage before Minya arrives right on time to convince him to let bygones be bygones.
Powers/Abilities: Godzilla has his thermonuclear breath and near-invulnerability. Manda can absorb large amounts of heat to become stronger, Gigan has flight and the Scattered Light Beam Gigarium Cluster beam, Rodan has hurricane winds, Kamacuras can camouflage, Kumonga can fire net-like webs, Minya can change in size and utilize Godzilla’s powers, and Hedorah can shoot concentrated smog. Monster X has "Destroyed Thunder" beams, and as Keizer Ghidorah, can siphon energy by biting down on an opponent.
Weakness: Beings of equal or greater power.
Scariness Factor: 4-A bunch of monsters under the command of a hammy, genocidal race? No thank you! Hedorah is appropriately the ugliest, even if he barely appears. It's Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah and Gigan that we should really be worried about, being amazingly powerful and terrifying opponents. At least Godzilla, Mothra, and Minya are on our side (sort of in the former's case).
Trivia: -Originally, this version of Godzilla was going to look a lot more demonic, with a burning-red chest and dorsal spikes all facing upwards. This was thankfully toned down to something more closely resembling his Showa incarnation.
-Originally, this film was going to have Gorosaurus and Mechagodzilla in place of Zilla and the Gontengo. Also, Megalon and the giant condor of all kaiju were going to be in place of Hedorah and Rodan.
